Most laptops sold in the last six years are WiFi enabled, that is they have a radio antenna in the lid which picks up WiFi radio signals in a restaurant. In Kuta this is free, as long as you buy something.
For example, if you ask to use the free WiFi at Gloria Jeans at Kuta Square, the shop assistant will give you a piece of paper with a password on it. Then you take your laptop upstairs. If your laptop has been enabled to pick up WiFi signals, it will prompt you to enter the password. Then you can use WiFi.
