we stayed there around 18 months - 2 years ago after hearing that it was really starting to cater for families. We normally stay at the Dynasty at least part of our holiday.
I must admit that there were quite a few families at the patra. We personally didn't like it. I felt too isolated and thought that it was a very big impersonal hotel. I found the rooms too far from the pool and to eat or drink there was very expensive. I'm not trying to whinge it's just our opinion.
Our kids are not really into the kids club anymore but they wanted to check out the one at the patra, it was very very quiet with only 2 other children there.
I personally think it's nothing like the Dynasty - no activities around the pool or anything like that.
Some friends of ours stayed at the Patra last year and loved it, they then stayed at the Bali Dynasty a few month later and much prefered it.
