Market clothing can be very hit and miss with sizing. XS, S, M, L etc are more common than numbers on kid's clothing tags in markets, but there seems to be no rhyme nor reason to why a size is placed on a garment, lol. It's more guesswork by looking at the clothing and hoping it will fit.

In stores like Kuta Kidz, Indigo Kids etc, sizes are pretty good, though with Indigo kids they tend to do size ranges, rather than definite sizes, such as 2-3, 4-5 (but no 3-4) etc.

In dept stores the sizes are usually close, but waists can be narrow on some pants or skirts.
