..normally a house temple will be placed in the area of the house/compound which faces the Gunung Agung, unless you are from Tabanan and then you may want the direction of Batu Karu, of course, some houses orient themselves on the Gunung Batur, and in Karengasem it's not unusual to face Gunung Rinjani (Lombok).With all respect this is not a decorative device for your garden. Each shrine is dedicated to a different Deity and there must be a 'House'for your ancestors as well. Your respect is appreciated, but unless you are prepared to actively maintain the shrines, keep track of the Odalan, and just happen to have a Pemangku in the neighborhood it doesn't really matter which direction you place the shrine. Oh, one tip: DON'T place it next to your pig stalls or kitchen. Get the picture?
