Upstairs with the electrical goods, we bought little water boilers. Looks like a metal 'mug' shape with a plug. Will boil enough water to make 3 cups of coffee no problem. Cost around $5 each last year. We used them to make morning coffees and also to boil water to make instant noodles some days for a simple lunch. Gave them to a friend when we left.

Also bought a sandwich maker from Bintang to make "japples" some days, but definitely cheaper to buy these and toasters etc from home, if you get the cheapies from Woolies or Kmart. Carrefour was very expensive for that sort of thing.
