You would probably quite enjoy the Novetel then, and Kuta area. It has the best beaches on Lombok and a lovely pool. You can do some day trips to explore the island if you want. Hire scooters to tootle into Kuta and back (it is very, very quiet on the road).
You could also stay over the other side around Senggigi - recommend Qunci Villas or Holiday resort. It is probably a bit of a better base for exploring the island and there is more going on in the way of entertainment and choices of places to eat in Senggigi itself.
And then there are the Gilis. Small coral atolls with no cars or motorbikes.
Plenty of choice. I'm sure you will love it whereever you go.
