My friend and I went to Bali last year (going again next week). He didn't have a letter from his doctor on our first trip and had no probs however what we did encounter was that because we could not risk losing machine we took it as hand luggage and had it on plane with us. Hand luggage i think was 7 kilos each so with his machine and medication etc, when we left Bali - we had cpap machine and extra gear in handbags and Jeststar wanted us to pay excess luaggae. After quite a lengthy discussion they waived the extra fee for excess but have advised us that next time we travel that we should get a letter from the doctor and contact airline we are travelling with prior to departure and organize with them that we get an exemption for the weight of the machine and we won't have same hassle and machine wont be included in our weight for carry -on baggage. Cheers Shelly
