Eating out can be really hit and miss .
First trip to Bali we ended up at so many bad restaurants we really thought the only food eaten in Bali was slop. It can great to be proven wrong.
As we've found out on subsequent trips, Bali has some wonderful places to eat, and we look forward to eating out in Bali, but we still get the misses at times. As you say, it's possible to have a bad meal anywhere. A favourite restaurant might have changed chefs, or a recommended one might serve food others think is fantastic and we think is average, or we try a new one and it's .. slop. :D
