in july 2009 we were staying in bangli and i found satriya's special internet price and rang them up. they gave me a higher price over the phone and i respectfully asked if i could have the internet price without booking over the internet( i wasn't too sure how secure giving out my details in bangli would be) and they agreed, it was quite a bit cheaper. they were very busy when we got there. so, yes, you could try bargaining. i found kuta to be quite a bit dearer than other, less touristed ( is that a word?) parts of the island.
