Not really kidding anyone. In Asia many strange things happen that would never happen in Australia, Europe or the US, especially when it comes to complaining, be it in writing or on a public forum. Remember the Indonesian woman Prita and the hospital law suit?
Most complaints are totally ignored because if the person on the receiving end does not (bother to) recognise the problem, the problem simply is not there. That was what Cracker's parents and their mates experienced.
But if the person who is complaining persists and does it with emphasis, a polite but rather threatening letter may arrive from the company lawyer(s), suggesting that if you persist, then the next time you arrive in the country where the company is located, there may be some 'problems' waiting on arrival, or later during the stay.
I have received such a letter and preferred to back off, no matter how right I was. Money talks and computers have good memories, once the input is there.
Most Asians never complain in writing - instead they do not use the company again, thus voting with their feet. Many faces are thus saved.
