It's only about 80-90km. we visited for the first time this year but was not impressed. I suppose it would have been a lot better if we stayed a night or two to have a good look.
We got a driver for the day. I think we paid about 500,000. Left 9am stopped at a temple for a short time and an hour at the botanical gardens. Then to Lovina. Had lunch at a beach restraunt. Left and back through the Hot springs and arrived back in Kuta about 6pm. Its a really windy road through the Mountains and you are unable at times to pass slower traffic.
I would recommend a real early start to give more time at Lovina to appreciate it. The beaches were very dirty and hawkers almost as bad as Kintamani
