Few hotels are as good as presented on their own websites, that much I have learned after 45 years of travelling. Wide-angle lenses can do miracles.

I do not bother too much about a hotel room although I do observe a lot. To me it is quite enough if the toilet is clean and flushes properly, there is pressure in the shower and the hot water is hot and that the room appears to be clean. That the bed is long and comfortable is another aspect that I appreciate. This resort lived up to all this more than I, with a somewhat realistic approach to life, expected.

The area is OK and one can easily walk to Jalan Kartika although I would avoid the walk when it is dark, at least if alone. Street lights are not that frequent.

The hotel is surrounded by residential areas and some shops. I only used the small grocery store nearby. Across the street there is a gym, which mainly the local youths use.

There are no sidewalks in the streets nearby. I did not find that too much of a problem - I just paid attention to traffic and drivers paid attention to me.

My first 'report' was quite detailed so it should cover most aspects.

The rooms were as good as most hotel rooms are but with an odd design as to the rather small closet. Lighting in the room was adequate but to read in bed one may wish to be an acrobat if needing strong light. Reading lights were more of a decoration, hanging about 50 cm off the bedside.

I am not an enthusiast when it comes to air-conditioning but I found that it was working really well. The hotel is, after all, very new. People living in the rooms facing the pool and with heaps of sun most of the day never complained that the room was ever too hot.

The dark brown furniture and its the design is more of an architect's dream than practical solutions, especially when more than one person occupies a Superior room. Best Western describes the design as minimalistic. I would fully agree. Perhaps the design is orientated towards the business traveller, staying for just a day - not tourists who may stay for a few weeks and are really good shoppers or bring a lot of things with them.

Mind, the refridgerator/minibar is nothing but a cooler, with +17 degrees inside. That is not at all good if one wants a really cold beer. An ice-bucket may, however, be had if asking at the restaurant.

As I had the feeling that most, if not all, of the rooms were 'non-smoking', the room was not smoked in and did not smell of stale smoke.

Fogging was done every week and I did not see any mosquitoes. Well, I am not a mosquito magnet anywhere I stay or go.

Whatever else there is to know I leave to you to discover as exploring and discovering is part of the fun of travelling. If you do not have extreme expectations as to hotels I am sure you will enjoy this property.
