I have sent back parcels containing clothes, sarongs, books and snorkelling equipment.

Last year, I was quoted Rp 504,182 to send a 20 kg parcel to Australia by sea mail by the Postal Agency in Jalan Benesari in Kuta. This price included the packaging.

The employee puts your things on a cardboard box, then wraps the box with a strong synthetic cloth. He then stiches the parcel and writes in large block letters on the parcel the address.

Later, the boxes are packed into the back of a pick up truck - about a metre high and taken to the Indonesian Post Office despatch point.
