Our children are only 3 yo and 20 months. This is my checklist for this year. We go to Bali each year, and dependant on the kids age, the list changes.

Antiseptic handwash
Aqua Ear
Sunscreen
MOOV mozzie repell
Aeroguard mozzie repell
Bandaids
Paraderm plus (antiseptic cream, no point with a bandaid unless you disinfect it first).
Gel patches (apparently a gel that goes over a sore and forms a waterproof cover, haven't used this yet).
Baby wipes for hand washing etc
Thermometer
Childrens panadol
Milton sterilising tablets
Dimetapp
Multivitamin syrup
Over the counter eye drops in case of conjunctivitis.

Unfortunately the most likely illness is a cold as you will be in a pressurised cabin with 300 or so other people for at least a few hours on the way over. With little kids conjunctivitis will often result from a cold as they do the nose to eye rub. That happened to us last year. I'm sure it will be something else this year.

As others have said, depending where you are going, most things are readily available, but you don't want to waste your holiday looking for them. Easier to just have them with you.

Babysitter will depend on where you are staying. We usually just orgnise one through the hotel. Cost is generally about $5/hr. Or thats what we pay, and we're happy with that.

Have fun, you and your kids will love it.
