I've had a whole bunch of tattoos done in Bali - half a back with cherry blossoms, upper right arm phoenix (Nov 09), Ongkara, Lotus, Hibiscus flower, Ivy bracelet -- and with tattoists the more you get, the more you go back, the cheaper it gets. An average of $60 per hour in Bali is a good price - certainly bartering too much for something you wear all your life seems an odd idea - and you can get it cheaper as time goes on and get those 'mates rates' as discussed. I can recommend two Tattoo arts 'Robin' Tattoo in Padma Utara and Ka's Tattoolife (Dhodho who is an AMAZING artist) and people queue up for him so he's very busy... Highly recommend both - Robin is cheaper as he's slightly out the way down the alley next to Loji Supermarket (opposite GVC). & Ka's Tattoo Life is on Kartika Plaza Street 21(2nd floor of ruko BNI Bank) --big parking lot in front. Robin is aroun $50 per hour, and Dhodho more...depends on how good you are at bartering LOL, but definitely $70 & up as he's an awarded tattoist. Re your price in Perth, 2 prices from local Perth tatoo shops I've had quoted $160 per hour from Holdfast and $180 per hour at Cherry Bomb, which is on the money from what I've seen -unless of course, you're a repeat customer and then it gets cheaper...as always... so your price is flipping fantastic!
