I too have sat on the beach on a remote island in my sweaty stained tourist tshirt and watched the island girls marching onto the outrigger boat in spotless white and perfectly creased school shirts and wonder how their mums in their smokey bamboo huts with dirt floors and old plastic wash basins get those shirts so clean and manage to dry them out on on bush next to a dusty walkway but still make them look like new..and to see them come home accross the channel in an overloaded fishing boat after walking or craming onto a tricycle and peddled several miles to school on a dusty road and back looking just as clean as they did when they left the island must be the real 8th wonder of the world - could there be some island magic in those long bars of blues soap they all use...
