The appliances that are heating things take a long time because the power wattage is so low, the clippers should work fine and will be a better option than the battery operated ones as replacing batteries can be expensive.
Re the power, the amount of wattage (I think its wattage) that each house gets depends on the level they pay for, and the higher the level the more expensive it is each month. Therefore a lot of houses in village areas only use the lower level of power and even getting the level increased is not so easy and is expensive.
