I agree with you about leaving off the rose coloured glasses and learning to love Bali as it really is.
I reckon when most of us first arrive in Bali we see a tropical paradise full of perfect people and fall in love with the place and it's people. Paradise found.
Sooner or later we find out that they are no more perfect than the rest of and feel disillusioned. Paradise lost.
Eventually we come to love the people and the place for what they really are faults and all. We even find that we like the Javanese and other Indonesians other than Balinese as well, after being warned by the locals that they are all 10 kinds of evil!
So is that paradise rediscovered? Maybe not but the mysticism and magic swirling throughout the organised chaos of traffic and commerce that is Bali (at least in the South) never fails to draw me into it's intrigue too just like you Pak Badak.
Thank you again for your snippets on Bali life as it passes by.
