we watch from the airport end of Kuta Square, the road is very broad there and the boys carrying the Ogoh-ogohs stop their and spin them round several timers before continuing on thier way. We dine at one of the restaurants and book a front view table for the night of the parade.
We stay at the smallish Ida hotel and found that Nyepi day wasn't much different from other days, besides having to stay in the hotel, the restaurant was same as usual for breakfast and lunch but offered a buffet diner with the restaurant closing at 8pm. everyone then goes to their rooms and catch up on sleep, reading or ??? whatever.
This year I am aware that Romy, the local hair dresser and their staff are staying at Ida, they are Muslim and so will be enjoying a day of rest, should be very interesting! If you now Romy, he/she is a very intersting colorfull person.
Hope this gives a little insight.
