In my 8 or 9 trips to Bali I have never felt intimidated by these guys. If traveling BC and luggage is 'priority' have found that by the time you get to luggage carousel they have lifted it off and they are standing over it. We have just said a polite 'no thank you' and taken off.

However, this last trip (Christmas/New Year) we couldn't find a trolley nearby (we could only see some right down the bottom end of the arrival hall) I Needed the loo so took off down there on a double mission. Loo was very clean I might add, trolley was woeful worse than your worst supermarket nightmare! My daughter hauled the luggage onto the the trolley, about 30 kgs each suitcase, but this old thing wasn't going anywhere. Suddenly a porter appeared with a brand spanking new trolley (no idea where it came from 'cause we couldn't see any earlier) I just offered the guy 20,000 (about $2.50 AU$)deal done and he then did all the hard work. Worth every cent.

Trip home, same thing, we couldn't find a trolley after the taxi dropped us off. There were two porters with a big trolley outside who approached us and I just offered 20,000 each. No arguments they just loaded our bags (again just under 60 kgs the two plus our hand luggage). These guys carted our luggage on and off the xray machines and right onto weigh in at the check in desk. We hardly touched them till we landed at Perth.

Bl**dy bargain! think about it folks! Know they have a bad name but in a lot of cases it may be unwarranted they are only trying to make a living. Know (unless they get popular and really stupid with pricing) we will always use them in the future. No more lugging luggage for us.
