At any time of the year you will have trouble extending your stay at Masa Inn from the dates originally booked. It is a very popular place. So, if you want to stay longer, book ahead.
As stated, Aussie school hols occur during April so many places will be fully booked early. It may not be simple to find somewhere the equivalent of Masa Inn just walking in. Also, be aware that Bali is busier now than it was a few years ago with all the cheap flights from Australia, especially ex Perth.
