You and your niece do not OWN this man, he is employed by her for a number of hours per day or days per month.
We have a number of drivers who work for and through us. None of these guys are "my driver" or "My niece's driver".
Before moving to Indonesia I also operated an Australian business that employed a number of people. I was never brave enough to tell any of them that they could do what ever they like in their own time.
People go to work for money (or at least I did) give the guy money not damn Kewl (sic) drinks.
We now employ 17 staff in Bali and not one of these people are deemed as "our workers".
