go for masseur sandals.The smooth ones with straps over the top and behind the heel for everyday walking.Then have a pair of the spikey ones to wear for 1/2 hour a day to massage those swollen feet and increase the blood circulation.
I have found that if you walk around in just thongs,it makes your feet and your legs ache like hell.
Hubby likes the Rivers croc's.
