Just wanted to share some of my new experiences with readers of this forum. I have just returned from about my 9th visit and was pleasantly surprised with a few new places we discovered.
We decided to take a trip to show a newbie a bit of the country side...I like the hot springs but we didn't want to drive so far. So our venture took us to Tabanan and the hot springs there. It was at a small eco retreat ............oh and how divine!!! The cost to enter to use a private jacuzzi and the big pool (you could pay just for the big pool) was 130 000. The private jacuzzi seated 10 people and was oh so hot in the water.....all water from natural springs and made out of rock. We kept alternating from the hot jacuzzi to the refreshing pool. The pool overlooked forest and a river. It was divine........in the middle of nowhere and no one else was there (not like the other hotsprings where it is people city!!) There is actually accomadation here but don't no what is like........would be great for a night to really unwind. You could stay here all day.......and the bintang was cold. It took us about an hour from Legian by car to get there.
We headed off to be at Tanah Lot for the sunset...........alas no sunset cos of the cloud cover but nice.
OUr next stop was Echo Beach. I had never heard of this place and was pleasantly surprised. Next time we will go for the sunset here instead.
The food was great the bintang cheaper than any where else and the ambience was awesome. A must go to place on my Bali list now.
Another great experience involved the staff at Bianco's in Padma st ( i think thats the name the white rest across from Posers). We struck up a friendship with some of the boys down at the beach that sell wrist bands. We ran into them again the following night whilst sheltering from the rain. I asked them to come with me because i wanted one of the bands........when we got the rest i asked them to come in cos it was really pouring.........the staff immediatley stared wiping them down. I asked the staff could the boys sit at a table which they did and my group bought them a drink and food. The staff at this rest were so wonderful looking after them and even gave them a doggie bag to take with them what they couldn't finish. The boys had a ball (ooh and even sold some bands in the restaurant)
As we left i thanked the manager and the staff that dealt with the boys..........oh and our food was great here too.We even went back for lunch cos the salad was great.
My last new rest was on the beach on the way to Zanzibars. I must say was a little dissapointed in Zanzibars as its normally one of my fave's...........but the one we stopped at was excellent. Think it was called Blue.......(sorry can't remember).
I had some massages at De Chi a holistic place.....it included cupping and having big cup marks all over my back for days........but a very good massage. The next time she stood on me.. I recommend this place.
Overall a great holiday again
