They have sponsored some bright children from the children's home in Aik Bukak. But also others from other parts of Lombok, who they have identified by working with locals and expats who are also involved in the community.
University education is an unattainable goal for many in Indonesia, more so for children of the very poor and orphans. Without organisations like Soti, and other very generous sponsors, they wouldn't have a chance to realise their potential.
One of the founding members of the organisation got interested in assisting disadvantaged kids in Lombok after reading a post on this forum from me about my first visit to the children's home in Aik Bukak. The magic of the internet!
