A better plan may be to fly to Mataram and stay in Sengiggi for the night, then get a small boat from Bangsal to whichever Gilli you are interested in.
You could look at fast boat to return, or just reverse the procedure.
I am sure that it is possible to go and return in one day, just to say "we've been there", but whether you get value for your spend, or get a feel for the place would be debatable.
With a little more time you could experience more than just the one island.
