I think it was a post by a guy from Sweden yesterday and he was talking about Puri Naga. We used to stay there and it is a great location although arguably a little expensive for a budget property that's getting a little tired now.
That's not the point. We found on checking out that they had been told at that time, by their boss to use Rp.11,000 to the $US. At the time the rate on the street was under Rp.10,000. I stood my ground and eventually they agreed to Rp.10,000 which I was happy with. I understand that with a fluctuating currency they have to leave a little buffer. The reception staff there are very nice and helpful in general and I do not blame them for this. Just something to be aware of.
