and it's something that we find every so often if we want one of our business licences signed, renewed or basically any signature from a government official we are asked to pay. They say it is up to us how much we pay. All our Indonesian friends with businesses in the same area say they pay it as well it's not directed at just us because we are Bule's. Our business is in the poorest region in Bali though so it may be different in a tourist area where wages are higher etc.
