I have found that any and all airlines are very understanding if you are diabetic. Perhaps they are afraid you'll keel over and they'll be responsible which I won't not being on any blood glucose lowering medication. I do however try to make low GI choices and usually airlines don't offer this. In fact even their diabetic meals whilst being low fat and healthy are not low GI. On one occasion before I gave up ordering diabetic meals my husbands "normal" meal was more suitable for a diabetic than mine.

Well off my soapbox again but my point is if you were challenged and I don't think you will be, just smile angelically and say "diabetic".
