A lot of hoops you must jump through to get a retirement visa.Your number 1 concern should be medical care, or lack there of. My advice would be to get 6 month visas, travel to Singapore, and start visa all over. You must have a TRUSTED friend to purchase property, that is why I feel it is better to rent. Also you must pay taxes at a ridiculous rate on the money you bring there and pay taxes on the maid you hire I will be retiring in Indonesia in 5 years, and plan on using this method. Do you speak the language? I advise you learn the language before going to retire, for obvious reasons like communicating with people if you do get sick. Good luck with your decision, and take your time with this big decision.
