Whew!! that was the fastest month of my life...
Good flight with AA love getting in early am to make the most of every day...
Stayed at Pelangi for first 3 days..love the location..caught up with friends on the beach Freddy -sunglasses guy...Eka- jewellery seller,
and the whole crew...again bought sarongs/sunglasses..
Little warungs down on the beach have just had a major renovation but not open yet...maybe next time.
Had to go the Nasi Campur for brunch and Tom Yum for hubby...loves to
sweat it out...crazy...eh..as if it isnt hot enough.
Out to Nusa Dua..peace and quiet..have you checked out the stars at 2am..couldnt sleep so up talking and watching the stars..and a swim.
Bonus of renting private villa ..swim anytime.
Mengiat beach was our favourite place for swimming and lunch and just watching the world go by.
Not much rain really compared to last year...only a bit here and there.
Always building going on in most places..things opening and others closing.
Spent a couple of days in Lovina...always a nice drive...just relaxing
not a shopper...well that day anyway..
Back to Nusa Dua to meet up with friends over from Tasmania...waterbomb park with their son and a great day was had..but so many stairss...my god ...should have buns of steel after all that climbing...and not to mention the wedgies!!! No worry everyone spent alot of time finding there bathers where the sun dont shine..it was hilarious really..
Thought Id buy the daughter some of those Ed Hardy T-shirts that are the rage..only to find out she thinks there gay...and too over the top..never get it right!! Well I'll save my doe next time!
Massage, facial etc..and a trip to Manik Salon for eyebrow tatoo...yes
I've been inked...what a great job Marie did..recommend her to any one.
Much of our holiday was catching up with our extended family in Bali and having many conversations with the local village residents..at night sitting in the street laughing with the kids and meeting the new babies born in our absence during the year..learning a little bit more of the lingo...and practicing english with the older high school kids...trying to teach them how to say fish instead of pish was so funny we all laughted together, as funny as us trying to pronounce some of their words . Village ritual at between 5-6pm everyone comes out of ther homes and walks and plays with the kids..dads teaching kids to ride a bike if they are lucky ones..or at the Banjar playing marbles with their sons..the small girls all huddle around in groups of whispers the same as anywhere else in the world..and women sit together and talk about everyday things...it was so nice just to be a part of it all and feel welcome..always an invitation for tea or a cool drink..I am so over the turbo shopping that has possessed me at other times..Thank god hubby says...good to help the local economy I defend!!
But there is so much more.
Time went so fast half the time I didnt know what day it was or the time..as I deliberatley left my watch at home and turned off my mobile..so each day was just that..a new day in Bali.
