but coming back from bali to Melbourne, its a bloody nightmare, and i would never do it again!! if you are over with your baggage in bali you may have to pay there, THEN once you reach Malaysia, you have to recheck in and then PAY again for overweight baggage. Not only that but you simply must remember to have malaysian ringgat for the airport if you have a delay between your flight, because you might want to eat, use the internet or whatever, and you can only use their money!!! Good luck with it, I think on the plane from Bali to Malaysia, you can use rupiah if you have it, for ordering food or movies etc.

As for Nyepi, personally I LOVE being in Bali when its on, its the one day of the year when absolutely EVERY person can do nothing!!! Its sooo quiet and just sooo relaxing, even the dogs stop barking!!

If you are in a hotel, you are not allowed OUT of the hotel but you can still swim and laze around the pool or in your room and have your tv on etc.

If you are in a private residence, you are not supposed to use any electricity at all, nor are you supposed to even make love!!!! hahaha, although westerners can get away with having their aircon on and their tv on, if only low volume.

It will be lovely no matter what and if you are there the night before Nyepi, you get to see a fabulous parade down Legian st, of all these fabulous paper maiche monsters which all relates to the whole Nyepi theme, its very noisy and very very enjoyable, the kids love it as do the adults.

ENJOY its a very peaceful and lovely time to be going.
