Please forgive any spelling errors or grammar as this is the first time I have done any holiday reports. There is also a lot of waffling.
Family of five myself, husband, son 19yrs, daughters 17 & 15yrs. Jetstar flight could not fault service. Should of landed in Bali 8.40pm and arrived ½ hour early and was able to get through VOA, immigration and baggage in about 10 minutes. Driver Putu waiting for us -referred to us by another Bali forum member - brilliant, honest, friendly, will be a life long friend. Arrived at ‘Lokha' hotel in Legian at 8.30pm (we still should of been in air). Could not believe our luck.
2 rooms for our family - husband and son in one and myself and daughters in the other. Rooms fresh, cool, clean and inviting. Balconies side by side overlooking pool so able to converse and pass things to one another over balcony. Breakfast good selection of food. Staff very friendly. One security guard became a surrogate member of our family and even called my husband dad.
Activities
Safari Park - kids had a ball stayed from 9.30am - 4.00pm. Lots of hands on experiences with the animals.
Water sports at Nusa Dua - we enjoyed flying fish, jet skiing, banana boat, wake board, parasailing and all inclusive of lunch and drinks for around $250 Australian for all of us. Worth every penny.
Son also did a diving adventure in Nusa Dua - 2 dives lunch included - around $80 also worth every penny. Son has his PADI licence.
Went on a day trip with Putu our driver 1st stop Bali Bird and Reptile Park lots of hands on experiences kids loved. 2nd stop restaurant overlooking Batur Volcano absolutely breathtaking. Next Monkey Forest and last stop Coffee and Tea plantation. Tiring but great day.
White water rafting - great fun
Uluwatu - temple visit and Padang Padang beach
Shopping Ketuts fixed price shopping in Legian did a lot of shopping there and other small sellers, also visited Matahari. Where able to get some great bargains.
Weather was great a few spots of rain here and there but nothing to spoil the days. Beaches a bit dirty but only to be expected at this time of year.
Restraunts - Indonational, Mozerella & Nero were our favourites.
Very sad to be home. We will just have to save hard and return ASAP.
