I doubt if anyone would deny that a forum should contain both positive and negative response about all matters discussed, however being rational should be a requisite.
In this case, to my knowledge, there is no indication of the circumstances involved or of the activity being undertaken by the unfortunate victim at the time the crime was committed.
If this is the situation how can posting the news of the murder play a part in "tourists knowing about things to avoid so no one is hurt, etc."?
Just being informed about a murder, and no other details supplied, will be of absolutely no use to anybody other than being a news item.
You obviously expect your friends to have blind faith in your recommendations.
