I've done Janet's class about 6 times now and still love it. Janet rarely teaches it any longer but Yuk De (her right arm helper) does and she is lovely...very funny and informative. If you do the Tuesday or Thursday class you start with a tour of the Ubud market and it is well worth it, if you are available to go on one of these days. Otherwise the other classes start at 900AM, instead of 800AM.

You'll get a mini cook book at the end with the recipes you've cooked. It's not totally hands on, as you'll get to participate as little or as much as you want to. The meal at the end is very good and the location is beautiful.

I always go with a group (that I organize from Canada) and it's one of the few classes that can accommodate more people. I think they take up to 20 per day. If you are looking for a smaller gorup, then there are more options. Maybe look at Bumbu Bali over in Nusa Dua/Tangung Benoa as it's abit closer to where you'll be.

There are a few other cooking classes in Ubud but haven't tried so so can't recommend them.
