Depends on how much you want to spend on a room at a 5 star resort...Legian Beach hotel is nice and Bali Mandira, Puri Raja..these are all at Legian which is all close to shopping and some great restaurants.... You should definately book as far in advance as possible as Bali is really busy now and most hotels get booked out months in advance. If you stay in this location you can catch a taxi to Nusa Dusa for the water sports etc... Diving is fantastic up the top of Bali or at Armed... Ask as many questions as you like as I am sure there are plently of people that are willing to help
