As a family of four we did WWR with BIR, pickup and drop off in Ubud including lunch for 1.2 mil Rp a few weeks ago. That works out at $36 Aus each on an exchange rate of 8300Rp/$. Even if you paid 350K from Kuta/Legian it is still only $42 Aus each. This is the second time we have done rafting with BIR this year and there are only about a dozen steps down to the water at the start and about 40 at the finish. Thats gotta beat 500 odd steps with some other companies. When we booked from Ubud we could not find any tourist booths that had brochures for BIR but we got one guy to just ring directory assistance for the Tel number, we told him what we were prepared to pay and it was all organised. Kuta/Legain would not be such a problem as I have seen plenty of booths with BIR brochures. A great day had by all.
