This was our 2nd time for me ,hubby & 4kids (20,16,14,12)and first time for my mum overseas on plane has only previosly done cruises. We flew jetstar from sydney which was delayed one hour with no mention
off the delay only found out from Qantas club flight had been delayed.
Plane was full as we travelled same time last year on a practically empty plane.
Arrived and got through voa and immigration within 10-15 minutes ,grabbed bags and off to jayakarta private apartments owned by Max and suzanne. we had to interconnecting one bedrooms with mum and daughters in one and hubby ,myself and sons in other not as much room as we previously stayed in their three bedroom but all you do is sleep in there so we managed fine.
We actually swam quite alot in the beach this time as the first week was very hot and the beach clean as they had no rains yet the same time last year we only went on the beach once as the rubbish and dead fish was disgusting.
EATING- we ate at flying piano ok not the same band as last year so not quite as much fun.
yutz son loved steak,la monde,la casa, zanzibar ,kumala pantai, indonational, billys, and many more the favourite but was goodys with the best ribs, pizzas& spring rolls. We also went to warung tropical but while the food was fine the atmosphere was way to rowdy for us.
SHOPPING- we got all the usual singlets, dvds, sunnies, tshirts, shorts ,converses, jewellery and i brought a pandora full off charms.
DAY TRIPS- taro elephant park we loved this day and had fun riding on the elephants a little bit pricey when their 7 people but glad we did it.
waterbom always good for a day off fun though slids are not my thing i do love the lazy river.
Bali zoo and reptile park my kids who are teenages actually really enjoyed the zoo more so than when we did the safari park last year. They got to hold many birds ,crocodile ,iguana and pat the lion and the cost off this was quite reasonable.
bali baik ride- (hi wayan) This by far was our best experience to date in Bali .we started at the coffee plantation and drank luwak and then with breaky at the volcano then rode mainly down hill through the villages stopping along the way. we were lucky enough to witness a cermation ceremony which was incredible to see ,then we had lunch at wayans compound cooked by his wife this food was absolutely beautiful. This day was just such a great culture experience for us and the kids and i would highly recommend it even though there is some up hill riding which is a bit hard you can jump in the support vehicle as myself and daughter did towards the end as she kept having nosebleeds .Our guide guday gave her some leaves to put in her nose and she hasn't had one since evnen though she awas having them everyday before this. Hubby and i hope to return later in the new year and want to do the cooking classes ran by wayans wife.
All up another great holiday had by all especially mum who coped really well for her first time .The only thing we found a bit strange this time was being asked by everyone if you want transport and then saying yes can you take us to places such as carrefour and they would say no now we were paying between 50and 70 thousand to go which is a fair price but some drivers couldn't be bothered.
