I have had it happen to me, the kids and my wife flew up and I flew a couple of days later. Cost me to get it on the day, but I had my old one and they did it really quick. Had the form filled out and was waiting in the reception of the building so I was first in (in perth not sure about other states). Did not want to get knocked back at the border and go through the whole bribery thing.
