I am not so worried by inbound security checks at Denpasar airport because I am already on the ground and have arrived safely.
As for the outbound ( coming home) security checks you get your person and bags screened as soon as you enter the airport, you can get a random bag check when you present your tickets and bags at the check in counter, you then go upstairs and pay your departure tax, after that you line up and go through immigration, you then get another bag and person check when you enter the waiting room for your flight and could also be subject to another carry on baggage check before you board your plane.
I usually sleep very well on the way home :)
