Hi Trayden. I was interested to read your comments about DPS and the rules for the legally blind as my brother-in-law, although legally blind, receives the Age Pension (Blind), not the Disability Pension. Therefore he comes under the same rules as other age pensioners, in Australia or travelling/living abroad.
As far as I know the various national associations for the blind have been trying unsuccessfully for years to have the legally blind classified under the Disability Act.
Would be interested to hear from you about this apparent anomaly as Centrelink is not very forthcoming with information. Thanks in advance.
