Not all or anywhere near all DSP recipients are "Old and Disabled"
Or even Disabled in my way of thinking!
Plenty in there twenties and thirties as well!
I know 7 dole bludgers personally who have obtained DSP over the years and some live overseas, most have lived overseas off and on,the only thing they have in common is that they don't go to work and think we are stupid for doing so!
See them laugh at Tax time as their earnings are only $2000 stated by centrelink, so need never do a tax return even though they received over $18000 in benefit!
There are many people on DSP because there is no other way as they are truly disabled in some way but these people tend to give it a go, i have worked with a few!
The fault is with the DSP itself as they have to treat everybody on DSP the same regardless of disability! and Doctors signing 5 yearly disability review forms for the fee!
One friend tricked doctors over his depression,Who wouldnt be depressed sitting around the house all day for years and years? He may just think he tricked them for all i know? But he looks very happy in Thailand and only gets depressed on his short visits back to Australia because he cant afford anything here,But does very well over there on us!
Nothing wrong with retirees and genuine disabled people enjoying their life overseas or at home at our expense because that isn't really at our expense!
But a lot on DSP are like those people who park in disabled parking bays and don't need to but just do because they obtained a permit!
How can sombody diagnosed with depression not be able to work for 2 hours a day in any 5 year review period? Because they told the doctor they couldnt!
Sorry again to genuine DSP recipients for my rant but I just Know too many scammers too close to home!
