My Grandfather took my sister and I to Bali for the first time when I was 14. It was February 1984 and being the wet season it was very rainy. We stayed in a bungalo on the beach at the Kartika Plaza ,it was like being in the sticks. Across the road were paddy fields where the Bali Rani is now. It really left an impression. Have been back to beautiful Bali many times since and have taken my own children and they have also had the pleasure of being able to go to Bali with their grandparents. Dear old Pop has since past but at least I have fond memories of my first overseas holiday to treasure.
