In 1970 Kuta township finished about 100mts up Jalan Legian.
Legian only had 2 Losmans & 1 Restaurant. The Losman we stayed in had no electricity, therefore no A/C or Fans.The cost was $1.75 per room & this included a breakfast of Kopi & bananas.
"The Pub" was a Tudor looking building at Bemo corner.
The Balanese ladys mostly went topless but a couple of years later bright purple & orange bras became the fashion.
Kintamani was basiclly undiscovered.
The best accomodation in Sinaraja was the old Dutch Governors residence at the top of the road leading to the port. ( This is now a Police Station )Cost for this was $2.00 per nite but you had to go to the port area to get a meal.
Darn I've just realized that by writing this post,I've given away my age. Oh well, many a good tune has been played on an old fiddle.
Back to Bali in Feb - Yay!!!
