Well it's a bit late as we have been home for about 4weeks
Perth to bali via Garuda flights on time both ways and good service as well, in the last 15 years of travelling with Garuda we have never had a delay in our flights.
We had a terrific time for the 18 days we spent in Bali.
1st stop SANUR BEACH VILLAS our Host Ron and and his lovely wife Irma looked after us
For our six days we spent in Sanur.
Thanks Ron for a good day at the Melb. Cup Function you lot do a great job raising money for the eye clinic. I hope we are there next year as well.
SBV is a great place to stay the tree of Knowledge helps your brain remember things you talk about and the BRE (big red esky) makes you forget them.
Breakfast at Ron's is terrific cooked to your liking by an exquisite chef.
One of the highlights of our stay was to meet a couple from Victoria (I will call them Jodie & Mark) HI GUYS to protect the guilty. Now I don't know if has been mentioned on this forum before but Jodie was the coach extraordinaire of the SANUR BEACH VILLAS SYNCHRONISED SWIMMING TEAM. Much laughter and hilarity whilst trying to pay attention to her. I haven't put the photo's up yet but lets just say they are exciting. (whats the video like Jodie.)
I hear this may be an Annual event held on Melbourne cup day after the races have finished.
We ate at a few different places in Sanur MEZZANINE, CAT & FIDDLE, DONALD'S on the beach, KASUMA'S (Twice) this was a delightful little place to eat and while away the time on the beach.
Then it was time to leave and say farewell to Sanur and travel to Kuta where we stayed at the BGH for 12 nights. The room was good and clean and tidy new furniture etc.
We ate at a few different places over in Kuta , tuban, and Seminyak
Thai restaurant about opposite the Dynasty great food.
ULTIMO in Seminyak (compliments of Jodie & Mark) I hope I've spelt her name right.
This was a great night out with terrific service and a great meal along with the terrific company as well.
TRATTORIA in Seminyak was another great place to eat as well we had a good dinner here and again the cost was really good.
GOSHA in Melasti Street my favourite dish steamed snapper in ginger sauce another great night.
UNCLE NORMS had a great steak here, service and price great.
THE BOARDWALK at the BGH had great food but the service was a little bit slow sometimes but when staff are learning you have to expect a bit of this happening.
Well a lot of shopping was done mostly things for the little grandchildren .
We went to the Safari park for the day this was an entertaining place and the elephant ride was a highlight. A lot of laughter on this as well and some good photo's.
All in all a great 18 days just relaxing and having a good time with some great people we met on this visit.
Anyway must away now and plan for another holiday in 2010 in bali but first have to get over a cruise in August
Cheers Vic_Bev
