Half Way Report: Before I start, just a disclaimer, I'm not as creative as Baldie and others so I've chosen to just list in bullet point some facts, findings and opinions of what we've done so far and will just cut to the chase. These are just my opinions, I realise people have different experiences all the time and I suppose that's just life and it's ok if you disagree with me, I won't lose any sleep! Also, I'm sorry if there is bad grammar or repeated phrases or whatever, I'm on Holiday and my thinking brain was left back in Perth.

I have left my email open if anybody wants to ask further questions I'm happy to help so either post here or email me.

We are a family of 4; my wife and I are in our mid 20's with two kids, 1 x 7 year old girl, 1 x 14 month old boy. We arrived early December and head back to Perth on Christmas Eve.
I was going to do all of this when we get home but this document is getting bigger and bigger and we check out of the All Seasons today to head to the Hard Rock for our final few nights so felt a good time to split this up and I'll do a final short JBR in the same style when I return.

All Seasons Legian: Before I start on this hotel, I need to put this into context; it is not an expensive hotel, for $70 a night you get a lovely room, great staff and good facilities in an excellent location. But there are things they can do better and things that they did well. My wife and I are used to 5 star hotels and this is the cheapest hotel we've stayed at, I must say I was surprised with how good it was for us and after 11 nights only a few things are getting on our nerves.

I had booked and prepaid for a Family Room which I was told via email would over look the pool, upon checking in we had been allocated a room on the very top floor (No lift, 4 sets of stairs) overlooking a busy road and the back of the Padma, carrying a baby, stroller, shopping and other things up 4 sets of stairs for 11 nights was not my idea of a great holiday. I expressed my unhappiness with this with the Duty Manager Buddha; he was good and very gracious in my criticisms and told me to leave it with him. An hour later he had arranged for us to be upgraded to a slightly smaller but much better in location Deluxe room on the ground floor right next to the pool bar. We've been in this room for the whole time and if we stay here again, it'll definitely be the room I return to.

The facilities are fine, nothing to write home about but comfortable still, certainly more modern and less traditional Balinese than the KP and other similarly priced hotels which suits me fine, I'm not a big fan of the traditional ‘Balinese look'. The staff here are so good though, always looking for small things to do to assist us and housekeeping was excellent, they were great at tidying things but not being obtrusive.

Two things were not so good about the hotel, firstly the breakfast is boring and the breakfast staff have an attitude on them. The juice is that reconstituted junk (How hard is it to get fresh juice?) and ordering eggs from the egg chef is very difficult, he clearly wants to just continue keeping on top of the buffet and nothing else. Secondly the design of the hotel is not so clever, stairs everywhere and noise was not taken into account when being designed, the pool gets very noisy and it goes straight into the room, and people moving around chairs etc on the upper level balcony's makes a terrible noise.
Other than those few problems, it's a clean hotel, most of the staff are great, the room service is good value (Ask for restaurant menu, you can order off this menu for room service, much more variety), facilities are fine and location great. Would I stay here again? For this price yes.
