to save money - dont eat in your dotel - buy meals not provided at restauraunts and you would be fine with way less. We often went out and ate and drank all night for well under $100. The more you take the more you will spend - just see what my wife can fit in her case..
Get your laundry done out of the hotel. Taxi's are more often than not cheaper than "Transport". If you are going to buy things at the markets know what the prices are and what you are prepared to pay. Check prices in Matahari & Centro to see ahat things are going for in the shops. The old guide of "cut their first price in half" is way off the mark these day's - remember most if not all of these goods are copies and 2nd quality. Sunnies they will tell you are for 300000r when you can end getting them for about 40000r half would have got you to 150000 way above market prices...
