Have been back in NZ for two weeks now and am missing Bali! It was my 4th trip and I meet my sister, 1st timer at the Denpasar departing gate,at Sydney airport. We flew Virgin Blue which was on time and good flight. Wow we had a ball. I helped her for a couple of days with bartering and pricing, then I let her do it herself to have fun and enjoy the balinese people. One thing I love about Bali is the people and their happiness. Two beautiful weeks from 20th Nov til 4th Dec, not a drop of rain. We had a week at Puri Raja in Legian then on to the Besakih Hotel in Sanur. I had a list a mile long from my daughters that have been and knew what they wanted. Had leathers jackets made from Merry's in legian from pictures and daughters measurements, they are fantastic, fit perfect. Pandora charms from Garlic lane which everyone comments on. Brought alot of dvds, T shirts, sarongs, watches, handbags, wallets etc. Had my 20kg of luggage in the first four days, thank god for the other 7kg of hand luggage. Went to Geneva and I was like a kid in a candy store. Then time to relax and enjoy time around the pool and get a tan. We meet some lovely people at the resorts just relaxing, drinking bintang, who were mostly from Australia, which I have not done before. Did Anika cooking class which was amazing and have cooked my family some dinners. Taro Safari Park is what my sister wanted to do and was great. Went to Uluwatu one afternoon to watch the dance and sunset, man they sure do pack the people into the dance. We would of liked to do more but we got into "Bali time" and relaxed. Ate at places recommended on the forum like Warung and friends for satay, Tommy's cafe which is just awesome food, Billy's, had a buffet dinner at Puri Raja which had suckling pig one evening with good entertainment. Had meals at Jepun in Sanur , very nice. Bonsai Cafe is also great. Best Pisang goreng is at Tegallalang rices terraces at a cafe there. Jenny's fixed price shop at Sindhu markets is great, shopped right to my last kg! It was a wonderful holiday and lovely to show my sister my favourite holiday destination which she enjoyed as much as I. I can remember sitting having breakfast on our last day in Sanur enjoying the ambience of Sanur and looking back at our two weeks of fun and burst into tears to think it was all over and back to reality! We sat from 8am til 11am just talking about our trip and making the most of time together. We have said that we will be back next year for some more fun, my family says not without them, and will stay at both resorts again, as they were both lovely and staff were wonderful! Time to go, off to the airport for our 1am flight. Enjoyed a couple of hours in the Dewi lounge at the airport. Good flight but couldn't sleep. Had to spend a night in Sydney at sisters for Virgin cancelled my connecting flight back to Auckland. Went threw two lots of customs and nothing taken away, great. Til we meet again!!
