I've used the Cash Pasport in the past and the only dramas we had was we were getting a lower rate withdrawing money through the ATM than changing it on the street. Also once, in Penang, we couldn't find a working ATM within walking distance.
I know there are plenty of ATM's in Bali, so that won't be a drama.
But the difference in the rate was considerable once added up over the length of the trip.
Very handy though. We still take ours as a back up.
