If you are sick of shopping then you definitely should avoid Chinatown, especially in the evenings as it is crowded and the store vendors are extremely aggressive. Since you are staying in the Bukit Bintang area there are heaps of options both entertainment and shopping wise. The monorail is close by so it is easy to get around. There is a street-Jalan Alor which runs parallel to Jl Bukit Bintang that becomes a big open air food court at night. There are also shopping malls -Sungei Wang which has a great range of clothing, accessories and DVDs and good prices without the hassle factor of Chinatown.
